Descrizione del corso

Our Best of Bristol 45+ course is designed to fully immerse you in the local language and culture here in the UK. Over 2 weeks you will study English in small groups (up to 10 people) and enjoy a varied social programme of activities and excursions, exploring the best of our city and beyond with your peers and teachers.

In the morning General English lessons, we focus on practical, effective and natural English. The classes are designed to build on any existing knowlegde you already have, whether you've used English frequently in your working life or haven't studied for a while. Our aim is to help you feel more comfortable communicating in English-speaking situations at home and abroad, and we'll cover topics related to the activities and excursions you go on so you'll be even better equipped to discuss them with your classmates.

After class, you can enjoy a daily afternoon activity and late afternoon/evening activity most nights. On Mondays, a welcome lunch is provided at school before heading out for a walking tour of Bristol's Harbourside or Clifton Village & Suspension Bridge. Throughout the week activities include exploring Bristol's Aerospace Museum, Brunel's SS Great Britain, a harbourside walking tour and boat trip and graffiti tour. You will also get a tour of Britain's oldest working theatre in England - and sample a traditional afternoon tea, and fish and chips! On Fridays, you can take part in our (optional) Conversation Club and practise your English with students on other courses; after this, we'll take you to a local bar for a well-earned Friday drink.

In addition to the programme schedule, we have a variety of optional extra excursions such as wine tasting, brewery tours and a tour of the oldest working theatre in England.

Con una popolazione di 500.000 abitanti è la capitale culturale e commerciale dell'Inghilterra sud-occidentale.
È una comunità eterogenea di artisti, musicisti, società finanziarie e high tech.
Bristol ha due università eccellenti, centinaia di pub e ristoranti sia moderni che tradizionali, musei, cinema e spazi verdi. Bristol è stata Capitale verde europea nel 2015.

Per gli amanti dello shopping il centro commerciale Cabot e il mercato di St.Nicholas hanno tutto ciò di cui potrete aver bisogno.
C'è sempre qualcosa da fare a Bristol: festival musicali, il più grande festival di mongolfiere d'Europa, il festival del porto, festival gastronomici e altro ancora.

Per gli appassionati di sport e attività all'aria aperta, Bristol ha due squadre di calcio, una squadra di rugby, palestre, piscine, strutture per l'arrampicata, equitazione, mountain bike e un centro di sport acquatici nel porto.

Bristol è circondata da luoghi di interesse: Bath, Oxford, Cardiff, Stonehenge e Stratford-Upon-Avon sono tutti vicini e Londra è a soli 90 minuti di treno.

I due centri IH offrono aule luminose e ariose, una sala studio ben fornita, wi-fi e accesso a Internet e persino giardini privati. La scuola è il centro ufficiale per gli esami IELTS e Cambridge nell'Inghilterra sud-occidentale e ha superato le aspettative della commissione di ispezione scolastica. I really enjoyed my experience in Bristol. Teachers are amazing, the classes are practical and useful to our daily life if we want to live or study abroad. The Accommodation office isn´t the best one, it could be more organized. Overall it was amazing, the students are really open minded and friendly. Thank you IH Bristol

Truly everything was awesome! The location of the school is near the best places in Bristol ( Clifton Suspension Bridge, city center, shops, Bristol docks and great restaurants) and still it managed to be in a quiet street, so you can fully focus on absorbing the new language skills served by very experience and patient teachers. When it comes to the accommodation, it was fantastic! The family, where I stayed, were great at every aspect of daily life. They helped me with everything I needed and gave the most precious gift, homey feeling. Thank you guys.

Most of our students stay in homestay accommodation with a British host family. This allows you to share family meals and experience English culture first hand.

Our homestay hosts are families, couples and single people. We have chosen them for you because they have clean, comfortable homes near the school, and they offer a friendly welcome to our students. We want you to feel like one of the family. This is a great way to help you practise your English naturally.

We visit all our host families regularly to make sure the accommodation they offer is of the highest standard.

When you arrive, your host will show you how to get to school on the first morning. Most hosts live within 20-30 minutes of the school on foot or by public transport.

Homestay families provide two meals a day, included in the price of your accommodation. You have a private bedroom with somewhere to put your clothes, and a table to work at. Every day you eat with members of the host family at breakfast and in the evening, and you can have meals together at weekends. We never put two students who speak the same language in the same home, so you will have plenty of opportunity to practise your English and get to know more about the English way of life.

Unite House is a modern, comfortable university residence, in close walking distance of the school. IH Bristol rents 'IH Bristol-only' flats for our students each summer. Students from other schools will also be in the same building but in seperate flats. Flats have en-suite bedrooms with shared kitchen facilities. Each flat has 6 or 7 bedrooms.
