Hello and welcome to Finland! This is the most memorable adventure you can find this close to the Arctic Circle! Our camps are 100% created and guided by native English teachers who have lived and worked in the Finnish educational system for over 20 years. You will improve your English while enjoying the perfect weather, taking part in daily excursions and activities and bonding with friends from all over the world. The full tour includes 2 cruise trips to Tallinn (Estonia) and Stockholm (Sweden). The price includes everything EXCEPT for flight tickets, visa fee and travel insurance and pocket money for gifts and extra snacks. For the insurance, we recommend Swisscare, which costs about 30 euros for 1 week travel in Schengen area (visit: https://swisscare.com/lowcost-schengen-visa-travel-insurance/#first--scroll) We will provide an invitation letter for your visa application. We provide 24/7 supervision. Students will stay at a hotel (maximum 4 students in 1 room). Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided. If you are vegan/vegetarian or allergic to anything, we will prepare a separate special menu for you. School supplies (books, notebooks, pens, etc.,) and a 4-G SIM card will also be provided. For medical care, we have certified medical staff, medicines and first-aid kits on-hand. What to pack: clothes for 15 days, sports shoes, swimming suits, towels, personal hygiene kit (toothbrush, shower gel, etc.,), "pocket-money" for souvenirs and snacks. 14-day Itinerary: Day 1 (Monday): Orientation Day When arrive at Helsinki International Airport, students will be picked-up by our staff to the hotel. After checking in, our guides will give everyone a 30-minute overview of the local area, maps, emergency contacts other general information. Every student will also receive a 4G SIM-card and a uniform T-shirt. Then it’s time to eat, relax and get to know the roommates, classmates, teachers and supervisors. Team-building games will be organized. The first evening should be all about relaxation at the hotel after a long long flight. Day 2 (Tuesday) Day 2 begins at 6:30AM, same as every day, students will be woken up by supervisors. They have 30 minutes to get ready before breakfast. Buffet breakfast will be served right at the hotel. 7:45 AM, school bus will take everyone to class. First lesson starts at 8:00AM. 11:40 AM is time for lunch. Meals will be served to their desks in the classroom. Students can have a small recess after lunch before group-work at 12:40. Group-work sessions are intended to revise the lessons and also to improve students’ communication and presentation skills. After school ends at 13:20, school bus will pick everyone up for the walking tour in Helsinki city center . Under the instruction from the tour-guides and supervisors, students will get to see and know about Helsinki’s landmarks: Helsinki cathedral, Uspenski cathedral, Esplanadi park, President’s house and Market Square. By taking HSL ferry boat from Kauppatori at 16:00, students will get to see the beautiful castles on Suomenlinna island . 18:30, everyone will gather on a green carpet of grass for a picnic dinner. Food and drinks will be provided. Students with special dietary will be served with appropriate food. Students will take part in team-building games organized by Kielo team before taking the ferry boat back to city center at 20:20. Students are back to their hotel room by 21:00. It’s time for personal routines before bedtime. Supervisors will make sure all of the students are in bed at 22:30. Day 3 (Wednesday) Another ordinary morning with breakfast, english lessons, lunch and group-work until 13:20. After school, the students will go to take a tour from the outside to the inside of the University of Helsinki - the oldest and largest institution of academic education in Finland. At 16:00, everyone will arrive at the newest and largest library in Finland - Oodi Helsinki Central Library. After taking a tour to see the whole library, depending on their desires, students will be divided into different groups for: Cinema, Cafe, VR games, Art Studio, 3D and crafts workshop. From Oodi library at 19:00, students will get on the school bus to go to a Kielo’s partner restaurant for dinner. Students will be back at the hotel by 20:30. Before going to their own rooms, supervisors and guides will gather all of the students together and ask everyone for their feedbacks and what they have learned, inform the students about the Tallinn trip on Thursday. Day 4 (Thursday) After breakfast buffet, at 8:00 students will get on the bus to go to Eckero Line terminal for Tallinn trip. The boat departs at 9:00 and arrives in Tallinn at 11:30. Students will take a 10-minute walk from the terminal to Tallinn Old Town under guidance. Students will have lunch at a restaurant in Tallinn Old Town. 13:00-14:00: Old Town tour. 14:30-17:30: Kadrioru Luna Luna Amusement park 18:30-20:30: On cruise going back to Helsinki. Dinner at a restaurant on cruise. 21:30: Back to Hotel room 22:30: Bed time. Day 5 (Friday) Ordinary morning with breakfast, english lessons, lunch and group-work until 13:20. After school, students will get back to the hotel to prepare for swimming or football. Students will choose to be in: swimming team or football team. Swimming team: 15:00 - arrive at Helsinki Swimming Stadium. Our trained staff will instruct students for warm-up exercises before jumping into the water. 16:30 - finish swimming, get dressed, get ready to go to football field Football team: 15:00 - Football field. Instructed by professional football trainor. 16:30 - Relax after playing 17:00 - Meet up with swimming team. Team-building games until 18:30 19:00 - Dinner at Kielo’s partner restaurant 20:30 - Back to hotel. 30 minutes of mutual activity. 21:00 - Back to room. 22:30 - Bedtime. Day 6 (Saturday) Ordinary morning with breakfast, english lessons, lunch and group-work until 13:20. 13:30-15:30: Parliament House 16:00-18:30: Heureka Science Center 19:00: Dinner at Kielo’s partner restaurant. 20:30-22:00: Movie night at the Hotel 22:30: Back to room 23:30: Bedtime Day 7 (Sunday) 8:00: Students are woken up by supervisors. Get ready for breakfast. 9:00: Get on bus for the city of Tampere 11:30: Arrive in Tampere. First sightseeing: Pyynikki observation tower. 13:00: BBQ picnic 15:30-16:30: Moomin Museum 17:00: Get on bus for Helsinki. 19:30: Dinner at Kielo’s partner restaurant 21:00: Back to hotel room. 22:30: Bedtime Day 8 (Monday) Ordinary morning with breakfast, english lessons, lunch and group-work until 13:20 14:00-16:00: Canoeing at Vuosaari Paddling Center, under supervision and guidance. 16:00-18:30: Survival skill lessons and team-building games 19:00: Dinner at Kielo’s partner restaurant. 20:30: Back to the hotel 21:00: Personal routines and bedtime Day 9 (Tuesday) Ordinary morning with breakfast, english lessons, lunch and group-work until 13:20 14:00-17:00: Hiking, Mushroom and berry picking. Survival skill lessons will be provided throughout the activities. 17:00-18:30: Team-building games. 19:00: Dinner at Kielo’s partner restaurant. 20:30: Back to the hotel 21:00: Personal routines and bedtime Day 10 (Wednesday) Ordinary morning with breakfast, english lessons, lunch and group-work until 13:20 14:00: Back to the hotel to prepare for Stockholm trip. 16:00: Get on bus to go to the Terminal 17:00: Cruise leaves Helsinki Dinner at a restaurant on cruise. Day 11 (Thursday) 7:00: Breakfast on cruise 10:00: Arrive in Stockholm 10:30: Stockholm Skyview - glass gondola rides along the outside of the Ericsson Globe, the world’s largest spherical building 11:30: Lunch at a restaurant 13:00: Vasa Museum - maritime museum in Stockholm, Sweden 15:15: get on bus to go to Terminal 16:45: Cruise leaves Stockholm. Dinner on cruise Day 12 (Friday) 10:30: arrive in Helsinki. 11:00: Back to hotel, relax. 13:30: Lunch at a Kielo’s partner restaurant. 16:00-18:30: Football and mini golf tournament 19:00: Dinner at a Kielo’s partner restaurant 20:30: Back to hotel. 30 minutes of mutual activities. 21:00: Back to room, get ready for bedtime. Day 13 (Saturday) Ordinary morning with breakfast, english lessons, lunch and group-work until 13:20 13:40-15:40: final test and feedback presentation about experience throughout the whole trip. 16:30-18:30: Bubble ball soccer 19:00: Dinner at a Kielo’s partner restaurant 20:30: Mutual activities at the hotel 21:00: Back to room, get ready for bedtime Day 14 (Sunday) 8:00: Breakfast 9:00: Get on bus for picnic at Hietaniemi Beach. Swimming (optional) under guidance 15:00: Relax at hotel. 17:00: Gather for farewell party. Receive certificates. Team-building games. Souvenir pictures. 21:00: Back to room. Pack up. Day 15 (Monday) Kielo staff will make sure the students get on the airplanes on-time and safe.
